The Change File Dates Action
With this action you can change the created, modified and (last) accessed dates and times of files and folders. This action
will not alter the names or extensions in any way.
If you back up files regularly, you will notice that although the modified file times retain their meaning, the created
dates will be very recent, and may well not reflect the 'true' date that the files were created. This action allows you
to amend those time stamps to something that is meaning full to you.
Once you have selected which of the dates you wish to alter, a second list is enabled with appropriate options. So if you
have chosen to alter the accessed date & time, then 'Change it to the' box will let you set each file and folder's accessed
time stamp to either the created, modified or a custom date and time.
The custom date and time will be familiar if you have used the 'Insert Dates and & Times' action. The 'Date & Time'
boxes allow you specify either the fixed date and / or time that you wish to insert, or the starting point for the incrementing
series.
If the 'Changing by' box is ticked (checked) then you can specify the increasing or decreasing step change to the final
date and time specified in the 'To' boxes.
The run of dates and times will increment at the specified amount up to but not exceeding the final date and time shown
in the 'To' box.
The examples below are shown in UK date format, which is day, month and year.
