The beer, named “Kali-ma” after the Hindu goddess Kali, as an imperial wheat ale flavored with several Indian spices such as fenugreek, cardamom, peppers, cumin and Scotch-Bonnet peppers. There was a picture of the goddess displayed on each bottle.

The Hindu community was insulted to see a sacred depiction of a goddess on what they saw as a trivial, commercial product.

The brewery has stated that they did not mean to offend anyone, and that the idea for the beer name came from the film “Indiana Jones”.

Burnside are currently scrambling to rename the beer and will release it as soon as they come up with a new name.

A residential street currently named Blaine Avenue could be renamed “Harvey Milk Street” after the openly gay politician who held public office in San Francisco in 1977. Milk was one of the main outlets for the gay rights movement during the 1970s. His civil rights work was cut short when he was assasinated in 1978.

The street which is proposed to be renamed would be a symbol to the LGBT community in San Diego because it leads directly into the heart of the LGBT community center.

The City Council will vote on the proposal and if it passes the street name will be changed in time for Milk’s birthday on May 22nd.

The Sink’s “Sinkza” is now named the P.O.T.U.S pie. The name stands for President Of The United States, and it is topped with pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, black olives and onion.

The neighbors of a home where 11 women were murdered want the entire street to be renamed so that it no longer holds the stigma of the violent crimes that took place there.

In Mount Pleasant in Cleveland, business owners, residents and relatives of victims are proposing that Imperial Avenue, where Anthony Sowell committed his murders, be changed to a new name.

The house where the bodies were hidden was fenced off and kept intact during the trial as evidence and was demolished in December. The group is expected to make a recommendation of a new name to council members over the next couple of months.

All 104 residents of the Upper Austrian town near the German border are set to vote later this week to rename themselves something less… crude. They are considering changing the name to “Fugging” instead.

Each station’s name has been replaced with a famous athlete’s name, such as King’s Cross station which has been named in honor of Nadia Comaneci who was the first female gymnast to achieve a perfect 10 score in the Olympics. The map also celebrates Olympians who won gold medals as well as others who had famous defeats. Some of the other famous names on the new Underground map include Usain Bolt, Evelyn Ashford and Sugar Ray Leonard.

The special edition map was designed by Alex Trickett and David Brooks. The duo chose an American athlete to represent the main Olympic venue’s stop: swimmer Michael Phelps, whose 14 gold medals make him the most successful Olympian of all time.

However, recently British lawmakers proposed that the tower be renamed after Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee of 60 years on the throne.

The motion notes that another tower at the Palace of Westminster was named after Queen Victoria when she reached her Diamond Jubilee and that this tribute would be a fitting way to honor the long-reigning monarch.

London will celebrate the jubilee this summer with an enormous festival including concerts, parades and a royal procession.

This time, the UK government is deciding whether or not to make gay marriage legal and Ben & Jerry’s UK has renamed another flavor in support. It’s Apple Pie flavor is now known as “Apple-y Ever After” in support of gay marriage.

The package has a design featuring two men atop a rainbow-colored wedding cake. The ice cream has chunks of apple and pieces of soft pie crust. Ben & Jerry’s has also launched a website and a Facebook fan page in support of the cause.

The lawyers of the American film company Saul Zaentz have contacted the owners of the cafe, as well as a pub in Southhamption called “The Hobbit”, and asked them to remove all references to Hobbits or Lord of the Rings.

Saul Zaentz claims they have, “exclusive worldwide rights to motion picture, merchandising, stage and other rights in certain literary works of JRR Tolkien including The Lord of Rings and The Hobbit.”

TV personality Stephen Fry, who is currently in New Zealand working on the Hobbit film, has stood up for the cafe. He said that the actions by SZC are “self defeating bullying”and there is no need to change the name.

A Facebook group called “Save the Hobbit” has been set up by local student Heather Cartwright. At the moment, it has more than 45,000 likes.

In Austria, there is a type of dark double-baked rye bread which is called “Negerbrot”. This name translates to “(N-word) Bread” and is one of the most unpolitically correct menu items. There is also “Zigeunerschnitzel” which is a traditional pork cutlet made with pepper and onion sauce, but the name translates to “Gypsy Steak”. Another dish is a chocolate cake called “Mohr in Hemd” or “Moor in a Shirt” which refers to the North Africans who have migrated to Europe over the centuries. Last but not least there is also spaghetti alla puttanesca – which literally means “whore’s spaghetti.”

Some are arguing that this idea of renaming traditional dishes is taking political correctness too far. However, the spokesperson for the Association of Austrian Restaurateurs stated that “Our job is all about welcoming people and for this reason we should offer a good example.”

The names will be changed to simply descriptive terms which reflect the dish, such as “very dark bread” and “chocolate cake with cream”. The new names might be boring, but at least they will not offend anyone.

All of the road signs in the village were sneakily changed overnight to say “Ashton Kutcher” rather than “Ashton-Under-Hill”. Flower beds also sprung up overnight spelling his name. The stunt will bring publicity for Kutcher’s appearence in the new series of the American television sit-com Two and a Half Men. The show premiered in Britain on February 27th.

The village pub was renamed the “Ashton Kutcher Arms” for the day and a bronze statue of the actor appeared in the center of the village.

One elderly lady interviewed for the stunt was not pleased by the change, She said “I’ve been a resident here for 35 years, never heard of Ashton Ku…Kushner, never heard of two point five men, don’t know who they are.”

Bill Griffin from Comedy Central said: “The stunt was genuinely meant in good humour and if any of the locals from Ashton Under-Hill were amused, bemused or in any way inconvenienced I’ll stand them a drink at The Starr Inn or as we like to call it the Ashton Kutcher Arms.”

The people of Slovakia are voting for the name of the bridge, and at the moment Chuck Norris is winning with a vote of 74%. The star is very popular in Slovakia and is often he punchline in jokes about his macho strength, such as:

In New South Wales, Australia, new laws are soon to be introduced this week which will forbid criminals from renaming themselves. Anyone with criminal convictions will be banned from performing a name change, as criminals have been using this technique to escape detection.

The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages will be sent an official “alert list” from the prisons which has the names of dangerous offenders such as rapists and murderers. These types of criminals will never again be able to secure a new identity for themselves.

Attorney-General Greg Smith has also called for a national limit on the number of times a person can change their name.

The news has spread around the internet, but most people are not getting the joke. Several groups are outraged at the anti-Mexican sentiment, however Holland’s bill was originally meant to mock other bills that would crack down harshly on immigration. Holland states that he finds these bills too hard on Hispanic minorities and opposes them.

State Rep. Holland is well known in the community for his strange and provocative sense of humor. He is also a funeral director and his funeral home gives out free insulated beverage sleeves to its customers which say “We’ll be the last to let you down.”

The owners of the restaurant which was known as “Pujols 5″ have renamed it the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Bar and Grill.

When Pujols left, security guards had to guard the statue of him which was outside the restaurant due to angry fans. That statue will wind up with the Pujols Foundation, likely in the Southern California area.

The name will stick until the crew of researchers decides what the official scientific name of the new crab species will be.

The hairs on the yeti crab are a natural adaptation which allow the creature to cultivate bacteria which it later eats as food.

Apparently, the 59-year-old actor is quite proud that his name has been used in the discovery. On Twitter, Hasselhoff has created the hashtag “GotHoffCrabs”.
