There is a small scenic, historic town in Northern France that may be rated highly by visitors, but is not ranked well on search engines. This is because the town is called Eu, which could be interpreted as European Union, .eu web domains, or even the chemical symbol for Europium. Due to its’ constantly being buried by these other search engine results, mayor Marie-Françoise Gaouyer has decided to let residents vote to rename the town.
Ville d’Eu (Town of EU), Eu-le-Château and Eu-en-Normandie are the top competitors for the new name. Hopefully the name change will bring more tourism, as the town boasts a number of attractions, including an impressive château and gardens.
