The newest Disney film in the
works is a version of the traditional Brothers Grimm fairy tale ‘Rapunzel’, (you remember the one about the girl with the ridiculously long hair locked in a tower?) However, in the fear that a
film with a girl’s name as the title would not appeal to young boys, Disney has decided to rename the story “Tangled”. Rapunzel’s Prince Charming character has also been transformed into an Errol Flynn swashbuckler type who is supposed to appeal to the young boys. It sounds
like an interesting take on an old tale, but I
think you can made Rapunzel as boyish as you want but it will still be a story about a girl and her hair… which sounds like a chick flick to me!
