The tiny town of Speed, Australia might undergo a renaming if 10,000 people
click like on the official Facebook campaign page, with the $10.000 bill to change the signs being covered by the TAC. The town will be renamed Speedkills for a month to raise awareness about the dangers of driving too fast. The “Rename Speed” campaign has also produced videos about the cause. Deaths on rural roads increased by nearly 25%
last year, and many residents have complained that motorists are traveling though the small town at reckless speeds. Research shows that speed was a factor in 30
per cent of fatal crashes. The whole town is behind the movement, fearing for the safety of their young children.
