Tucson Park Named After Nine Year Old Shooting Victim

Little Christina-Taylor Green was shot and killed on Jan 8th during a congressional meet-and-greet outside a supermarket. Five other people were killed in the shootings and thirteen more were wounded. A park has been renamed to honor Christina’s memory. The Canyon del Oro Christina-Taylor Green Memorial River Park was officially dedicated on Monday, at a ceremony attended by 250 people. John Green, Christina’s father, said that his daughter used to love to play at the park. City officials

are working on a plaque for the park to commemorate Christina’s life. Christina will also have a Little League baseball field named after her, and her family will throw out the first pitch when the season begins in April.
